These instructions apply to most modern versions of the Ubuntu Linux Distribution, as well as most of its flavors. The following steps will help you to connect to UF Wireless Service. These steps only need to be performed once. Any student resident with a valid GatorLink username and password can use DHNet Wireless Service. If you have forgotten your GatorLink password, please visit http://www.gatorlink.ufl.edu/ or call (352) 392-HELP.

NOTE: Due to the complexity of this tutorial it is recommended that you use the automatic configuration wizard by going to http://getonline.dhnet.ufl.edu

Step 1

At the top-left corner of your desktop, look for the wireless icon and left-click the icon. This will bring up a menu. In this menu, select Edit Connections.

Click the Add button.

For the Connection Type, select Wi-Fi, then click Create.

Set the SSID to UF then click on the Wi-Fi Security Tab.

Set the Security Type to WPA & WPA2 Enterprise.

Set the Authentication mode to Protected EAP (PEAP) and the inner authentication to MSCHAPv2, then type in your Gatorlink Username and password. Click Save when you are finished.

You Are Now Connected!

You have now successfully connected to the UF Wireless Service. If you have problems at any time during this procedure, visit a DHNet@Home location, call (352) 392-2465, or submit an iServiceDesk Request.
