Configuring SafeConnect

SafeConnect is a posture assessment software that checks to make sure your computer complies with our configuration policies. SafeConnect will alert you when one of these items is out of date or out of compliance.

SafeConnect Posture Assessment Checklist

The SafeConnect program currently checks for the following items If you need assistance with updating one of the products below, please consult the menu on the left.

  1. The SafeConnect Policy Key software is installed and running
  2. Windows XP is not installed
  3. Windows Automatic Updates or Mac OS X Automatic Software Updates are enabled
  4. Virus protection is installed and updated – Get FREE software here
  5. Malware protection is installed and updated – Get FREE software here
  6. Oracle Java, if installed, is updated to latest version
  7. Adobe Flash Player, if installed, is updated to latest version
  8. Adobe Acrobat Reader, if installed, is updated to latest version
  9. Operating System Service Packs are installed to latest version

SafeConnect Removal Tools

  • Flash ActiveX Removal Tool (Windows only) – use this tool to remove the Flash ActiveX plugin *only* after attempting to uninstall using Control Panel

SafeConnect Update Schedule

The SafeConnect Enforcers will be set to update the versions checked on the following schedule:

  • Adobe Flash – Warning as soon as an update is released and blocking the next Monday following the newest release
  • Oracle Java – Warning as soon as an update is released and blocking the next Monday following the newest release
  • All other posture checks will block immediately following the newest update
